My portfolio preparation tutoring is geared toward giving high school students artistic experience in what is taught in college freshman foundation courses, the first year intro art courses in college: drawing, two-dimensional design, & three-dimensional design. I have modeled my instructional techniques after my own artistic training at Rhode Island School of Design.
My goal is for students is to be able to create artwork for their college portfolios that demonstrates they are prepared to successfully complete foundations courses. Students with artwork that demonstrates skill in completing foundation-type assignments are more likely to be accepted into a college-level art program.
I work individually with high school students to help with advanced art courses at their schools such as AP Studio Art or IB Visual Art. These students create a number of works on a theme.
I also work individually with MFA program applicants. These artists need advice in portfolio narrowing, portfolio photography and drafting their artist statement.
I also work individually with adult artists on an as-needed basis who simply wanting technical and conceptual feedback on their artwork.
